SAVE 2nd Base

Kelly Rooney was a loving wife and mother of five young children, but she also had a quick wit, loud laugh and a mischievous streak. Love and laughter were the best medicine even --during her most challenging moments. Cancer couldn’t kill her sense of humor and hence she coined the phrase “Save 2nd Base.” This became her mantra.

In 2005, Kelly Rooney along with her sister, Erin Dugery, and friend, Kelly Day, boldly displayed Kelly’s new catch phrase “Save 2nd Base” on t-shirts they wore in the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk. The shirts were a hit.

Today, Erin Dugery and Kelly Day provide exposure for The Kelly Rooney Foundation with Save 2nd Base apparel and merchandise. Each piece has the potential to spread the word about breast cancer prevention, education and awareness.

Save 2nd Base merchandise has been sold in all 50 US states as well as Australia and have been distributed to our troops overseas. Save 2nd Base has donated more than $30,000 to Kelly Rooney Foundation and other Breast Cancer non-profit groups.
