The Kelly Rooney Foundation
Transforming advocacy into a legacy
Long before Kelly Rooney got sick, she was advocate for breast cancer prevention. In 2002, when Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer, advocacy became a passion. And when Kelly passed away on July 11, 2006, her passion for prevention became her legacy through the formation of The Kelly Rooney Foundation.
Today, The Kelly Rooney Foundation honors Kelly’s legacy by funding research, education, awareness and outreach programs focused on breast cancer prevention. Since its inception, The Kelly Rooney Foundation has raised over $500,00. Through partnerships with BREASTCANCER.ORG and The Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania, The Kelly Rooney Foundation seeks to be a catalyst for helping to create a new generation of women fully empowered with the ability to help prevent breast cancer.

- Unhealthy chemicals consumed through eating, drinking (many plastic containers used in packaged food and drinks can be harmful), breathing, and using personal care products (including certain hair care products such as relaxers).
- During the 10 years of breast development, a girl’s food, water, beverages, and air are the building blocks of their new breast tissue — the foundation of their future breast health.
